Shopping

I had a wonderful day yesterday filled with shopping quality time with a buddy. Every now and then it is healthy to go on a little shopping trip with friends. I didn't spend a lot, but it isn't about what you buy or what you didn't buy that makes it a good experience. (I should have bought that black blouse though!)

As a wise woman once said, whom I just found on google and have no real ideal who they are, "I always say shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist." I have come to the conclusion that shopping is just as good, (if not better) than seeing a shrink. Shopping, when done the right way, can make you feel confident in your buying decisions, feel good about your looks, and make you more aware of your own sense of style. I get to know myself a little better every time I go shopping.

One thing that I hear all the time when I go shopping is that if you don't like it on the hanger at the store, then you won't like it at home. That is so true! I mean, it's not like the merchandise gets prettier when you get home. I had to tell myself a lot yesterday (well, MaryBeth had to tell me a lot yesterday) before I bought something I didn't need, to take a deep breath and walk away.

I am not a clear thinker when it comes to shopping, unless I have a list. So, I often buy things that I really don't need. It is better to leave a store with one good purchase and money left over, than to leave the store with ten bags of useless stuff and no change.

"Anyway, um, um, where was I? Kinda lost my train of thought....Uh, well, uh, OK. Anyway I, I know it's kind of a roundabout way of saying it...But I guess the whole point I'm tryin' to make here is..." I love shopping!!

I'm glad you had a good time shopping! And you're totally right, it does make you feel better! I bought myself a light jacket the other day and I felt great! Like somehow that one jacket changed the way I felt about myself. Odd, but nice.

Also, I just have to say -That's so awesome that you can feed your fish! I was just moving the mouse around trying to see which fish was the slowest and then I clicked and I got to feed them! How cool is that!?

Shopping is AWESOME! Even when you don't plan on buying much of anything, I just love wandering around looking at everything. And the BEST thing about shopping is good deals! There was a sale at the BYU bookstore, and I got myself a new skirt and 3 shirts for $22!!! AND I got a nice 4 piece luggage set for $24!!!!!! I felt GREAT!!!!! :D

I want to go! I haven't been clothes shopping in forever, and I haven't been out with my gal pals for a while either (none of them are here!). There's something about being married that make you poor. Oh well, I'm glad you had so much fun!
