I wish that I lived in the time of Jane Austin. Gentlemen were gentlemen and ladies were proper. Everyone cared about being composed and things like that. I know that everyone has heard of stories about creepy people on the internet...well, there weren't any of those in Jane Austen's time, (well, at least on the internet.)
When I was in Chicago, one of the hotel managers walked into the lobby to talk to us about the hotel and management and how we needed to do certain things, but before he was finished, he said to all of the girls, "A lot of you will be wanting a romance here in the big city...but let me clue you in....most of the time, if a guy seems to good to be true, he is." That was some very sound advice.
I mean, sure you have your share of Wickam's in life, but you cannot forget about all of the Darcy's and Bingley's.
Jane Austen's time sounds like such a wonderful place to be and it would be awesome to be a mormon in a time when you don't have to worry about compromising standards and trying to impress everyone. Most everyone gets along and when they don't like a person, such as Emma and Mrs. Elton, they throw a party for them. (The next time someone throws a party for me I might have to think twice about it.)
I guess that I just wish that men would be more like they were in Jane's time. Or at least the way that she saw them.

You, too, can choose to be happy, by Carma Wadley
I was reading an article the other day about happiness. It was really good, so I thought that I would share.
Kindness is good. Kindness is wise. Kindness is necesary.
Sally Hussen has learned one of life's great lessons: "Happy days are made by happy people. Happy people are made by choice."
You, too, can choose to be happy, she says. "If you wait to be happy, you will wait forever," she said. "If you are happy now, you will be happy forever."
If it seems that Huss is speaking in aphorisms, it is because she is.
This article is so true. If we would all just be happy about things, life would be so much easier.
